Weird question, but I've really been wanting to get both a pair of emus and a dwarf Nigerian goat. Would a goat be happy in a field with two emus for friends or are they too different from each other? Thanks!

Be aware that if the emus are not used to goats they may very well attack and try to kill it. As for emus being a substitute for another goat as far as companionship goes, no

Emus are not goats and I don't think they would be compatible, would most likely hurt each other. A pair of emus, while not particularly mean, are well able to defend themselves and pack a powerful kick. They will nest, and the male will defend the eggs if you get a pair. Also, be aware that properly cared for, an emu bird can live over 20 years and eat a lot of food. If you can't find ostrich maintenance for them, you will need to mix rabbit pellets and layer pellets to feed them. Goats are inquisitive and nosey, sometimes aggressive, and competitive about food. To me, it seems like a bad combination.

I don’t think that’s a good combination. Without living in a large open space, being fed the proper food, and having a lot of other emus around then the emu will most likely blame it on the goat. Emus and goats do NOT belong together
