Can an utter lack of common sense be a symptom?

Looks? I saw the catfish picture. The catfish was the most handsome.

I actually noticed straight away something was amiss with my little Stevie- Ray - she hatched with cloudy looking eyes, she took alot longer than the other ducklings to find her feet, and even when she did she walked funny.

She does ok out in the yard with the other ducks- she actually has a " keeper" one of my drakes looks after her- and wont go into the shed at night until I have picked her up to cary her inside. Often in the mornings he will make a bolt out the door...... then quickly turn around and come back inside while I carry her back out again.

It really could be any number of things wrong with the little guy- it could even be something internal that you will never know about. Love him and give him special attention is all you can really do for now while you try to work him out.

Catfish also weighed the least.

Elfie was a bit slow at first. Everyone else would run for treats, she would just watch. That kind of thing. I made sure she got vitamins, probiotics, I watched her more carefully - she wouldn't preen after a bath, so she got the dry washcloth treatment.

Happily, it is difficult to tell now most of the time that she's a little different. I don't think she would have made it without some TLC. But she's part of the flock. Does a few interesting things - gets into repeat mode, running between food bowl and water. I mean, for half an hour at a time. Back and forth, back and forth. She is sweet and beautiful.

So, I pray your special baby gets the boost she needs and becomes part of the flock and catches up some.
