Can anybody ID the breed

I got this rooster from a friend at work and he said the rooster came from McMurray Hatchery in a mixed batch.

My guess was a White Rock but just not sure??

Are they good for eggs or more of a meat chicken..

They're not generally known for their laying ability, they are used more commonly for meat.

I wish I had taken some pics of the buff cornish I had recieved from Ideal, they looked more like moderns!

I don't think it is a cornish. White leghorn or a mix of it. Or white rock like you think. I don't know what that hatchery sells.

My daughter says the comb is a pea comb and rose comb cross.

I am concerned about the black spots on the comb. I went to a workshop last month and there was a chicken disease that had black spots on the comb. Might want to do some research.
