When people refer to white "leghorn" they usually refer to some white leghorn hybrid that was developed especially for egg laying.
One of the most prolific is the Hy-line white that produce 340- 360 eggs/year in avarage for the first 2 years. The pure white leghorn produce 280 -310 egg/year the Exchequer leghorn is less prolific then the white and lay 250-280 eggs/year.
