Can anyone give suggestions about a duckling that is suddenly blind?

We bought six ducklings on April 10th that were hatched on April 7th. All was well until yesterday when one of the ducklings started acting strange. It was fine yesterday morning, then we noticed late yesterday afternoon that it mostly just sat down. It seemed to be stumbling around, and it fell out of the small water trough at one point. It seemed disoriented, stumbling around.

The only thing that happened during that time is that we took them to a pen we had put up in the yard to give them a little outdoor space for when they're ready to go outdoors. Only some grass and a few weeds, no pesticides or anything it could have gotten into. All the other ducklings are still fine, and it was only a little while ago that I realized the reason this one is behaving this way is that it went blind within a space of a few hours. It was one of the most active and personable ones before.

Is it possible that this is something temporary? It can still find the water and duck feed in the container they're in while they're in the house, but we're not going to be able to put it in a big outdoor pen once they're old enough if it can't find its food. We're willing to do what needs to be done, but we can't understand how something like this could happen so suddenly.

Thanks so much in advance!
