Hi all. I have a 2 yr old pekin duck.. she has always had a lump.. but last week it got real bad , she could barely walk would put her wings down to balance herself and sometimes her beak , she ended up bloodying the tips of her wings .. so I have kept her up , been giving her vitamins and electrolytes , some days she can manage a couple of steps but hasn't in a day or two .. my vet doesn't really treat birds although I could probably get meds from him if I knew exact dosages .. please help I don't wanna lose her but no improvement... it almost seems like she cannot feel her left leg ... sometimes her foot bends backward behind her at the ankle joint

Can you post any pics? I would try putting some Tumeric on her food. Gently spray it down with water and a little applecider vinegar so the spice sticks to it and just sprinkle it on her food like you would your own. It helps with inflammation. Without seeing what is going on its hard to diagnose. If there's black sores it could be bumble foot. Plain Niacin capsules in a gallon of water help. Make sure it isn't flushfree or time release, just plain. It helps with leg issues. Go easy on the electorlites there's a ton of salt in it and you don't want to dehydrate her. Sounds good to keep her up, id do the same. Limit her space so she doesn't need to hobble about and hurt worse.

See she uses her beak to get balance and then gets up on it but when she walks it turns under and she drags it

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at the pics ...
If it is dislocated it's prob been too long now to pop it back ???

If it is dislocated it's different then being broke i assume? Ive dislocated my arm twice as a kid and the dr popped it back in. I'm no expert by any means. Time shouldnt effect a dislocation the same as something that broke and healed all screwy. Again, I could be wrong.
Good luck and let us know please. Always here for support. You are doing the right thing in taking her.
