Can anyone help us to understand what to expect with Holderread order?

Sorry to hear of your losses. My gosling trio arrived this morning. They wrote 3 bargain goslings so I think they are 1 American blue,(who is about twice as big

as the other 2) and 2 Africans. Date stamp on picture not accurate. Camera was a $30. Walmart clearance item and had been sitting in the store for years and I did not know it would put date stamps on all my photos and I do not know how to change it.

They are honkalicious ;) so cute! Congrats :celebrate

They sure are cute! Mine grow like weeds too and come running as soon as they see me. Lol. Just watch your next years breeding! Cause you will go faster overboard and fall in love with the ducklings than you think! Speaking out of experience as we currently have about 60 ducklings between 2 weeks and 2 months old quaking all over the place! Lol

They are looking great! Breeding should get interesting. What is your plan to not cross breed?

Can't wait for the photos of your unique babies.....;)

(Please ignore the black poo. They are not sick or anything; they have been eating a ton of mulberries!)

Learningstill, if you wanna make a road trip to NW Wisconsin I could give you a nice Saxony drake! I am almost equal in hens and drakes, so either have to get more hens or (unfortunately) have to sell some of my males :(

Thanks, I will keep you in mind. As of right now, we have one adult drake. We had two, but one died recently. We were hoping we would get one from the babies to replace him. I appreciate your offer. We thought one of the babies was a drake, but we heard it honking yesterday. We are hoping it will somehow turn out to be a drake. We did have a khaki which honked while young and ended up being a drake. We are not holding our breath on this one though. It sounded more girl than boy....:barnie

They are all soo pretty!
I'm curious to know when you were arable to tell male from female silver appleyards. I have 2 that are four weeks. I think one is starting to make a quack and has much lighter coloring.

You can try the grab and walk away method ;) Around their age, we grab one duck and walk away from the rest. If it honks or peeps loudly and a ton it is a duck if it peeps quiet and raspy and less it is a drake. This is usually pretty accurate. Otherwise, the drakes heads are more gray and the ducks is brown. Best of luck! You could also post some photos and someone will respond.

Learningstill: I plan on separating them early next year. Ill make sure I get purebred eggs before having the ducks hatch em. I plan on getting some Adult Pilgrim Geese this week to keep the ducks company. I also hope I can get adult Muscovys to help hatch out some eggs if the Ducks don't. Your ducks look amazing btw. I wish I woulda got some TSQ ducks now that seeing how nice yours look. What do you plan on doing with your duckies?
