Argh... So I just received this thing in the mail. It went up to 102 within 15 minutes. I'm reading the instructions that came with it but they seem almost contradictory. They give an explanation of how to lower the temperature, then give an example that doesn't even seem to follow it! I want my temperature at 99.5... not 101.8 as my medical thermometer was reading (guaranteed accurate within 0.2F) ...So, does anyone have a more logical explanation for how to work this thing?

Sort of regret getting a styrofoam box...

Thanks!

Well, I don't know if I've been fiddling with it too much or what may be wrong, but now it is not warming up at all. The light blinks repeatedly and it is not getting past about 80F.

What did I do? How do I fix it?

Is it new or used? You may have a defective thermostat. I do not have a clue how to fix it except call the company. I wish I could be more help.

I've got 3 of them and wouldn't trade them. To adjust the temp, turn all the little toggle switches to the off position. Then turn on the toggle switch...usually either number 3 or 4. See if that works.

I did that, and it doesn't warm up at all. I don't know what I did. It blinks three times every few seconds or so. I did do something with the "rocker switch" as they mentioned it could be out of place. It was then loose, which I guess would have been the problem they described in the first place, but I toggled it again and now it's back to how it was when I first took the incubator out of the box.

But the thing isn't even heating up.

Any ideas?

Turn all the rockers to the off position exept one probable number 3 then let it run an hour or so and if you need a higher temperature cut 3 off and turn number 4 on. The higher the number the higher the temperature .

I had #4 on, but it wasn't heating up. I just went and turned 4 off, the light started blinking repeatedly, and then I turned 3 on.

The last time I set the temp. I tried to use their explanation for how to return to factory setting. It involved turning on and off certain rockers, not just all off, and then choosing one. Argh, this is annoying.

The temperature setting instructions are so confusing to me, too! I had to readjust the 3rd incubator I purchased because it stayed at 102.5. I'm actually not sure how I got it adjusted, but I could always get it back to the factory setting (which was 102.5!); and then I would work with resetting from there.

Do you have the one sheet that says:
1588 Genesis
Wide Range Adjustment

On it at the bottom is says:
To Return To Factory Setting

To clear out all my resetting attempts, I could turn off all the switches then turn on 2,4,6,8. Then it would start flashing. Then I would turn off all those switches and turn on just 4. I think to change the temp a little, you would turn on just 3.

I would let it sit for a while and then go back to it and it would go back to read 102.5. Then I would start over trying to adjust it.
Sorry, this probably isn't much help; hopefully an experienced 1588 owner will come along soon.

I'm quite sure... The higher point of each rocker will be up if it is on, down if it is off, am I correct or not? The pictures are a little odd, but that's what I gathered from them.
