Can anyone help with the Genesis Incubator thermostat?

When I mean it isn't heating up, I mean it is the same temperature as the room it's in. I can't feel any heat in it at all. What's going on?

Update: Yes! It's finally warming up!

I just put it back to factory setting. I was doing it backwards. I think they need to put a more understandable picture of the rocker switches – I asked everyone in the household what was up and what was down and they agreed with me.

There are more complex instructions for lowering it by half a degree, too... But I don't quite understand those yet.

So far, it's between 99.0 and 99.1. Pretty precise thermostat.

But my question is – should I fiddle around to get it to around 99.5 - 100, or should I settle for this, and see if it gets a little warmer? For goose eggs, 99 is the recommended temperature on the chart. That is what I am incubating right now.

I wopuld go another number higher and see where that gets you.

You should probably use an additional thermometer other than what came with the incubator, also.

But thank you for the suggestion. Yes, the thermometer it came with does not give me the proper reading, it always comes out too high. I've turned the incubator up to 4, and it seems fine. My supposedly accurate (+/- 0.2F) says 99.5, a more expensive digital one says 99.6, and the others read around 100 - 101. Sometimes you really can't trust thermometers.
