Hi, I'm new to chicken keeping and have never really had much experience with them! We have bought 2 8week old Pekin Bantams as they are suppose to be really friendly... One is constantly pecking the other... Is this normal? The golden one has caused the lavender to have an injury above her beak and it also pecks us too and hates being held. The lavender is much sweeter and doesn't mind being handled! Are we doing something wrong? Thanks

Thanks for replying! I'm not sure if i have a cockerel, they were both suppose to be hens. How do I tell the difference at this age? Thanks for link, I will try putting some things up to distract them. I've read about pecking them back but I can't get close enough... He/she either runs from me or flys up at me to peck me

If the bird attacks you too, I would be thinking of rehoming it or inviting it to lunch.
