Can anyone identify these symptoms of illness?

A couple of weeks ago we had a Rainbow Dixie hen that we had to put down because of bleeding from her vent. She was only a year old. Two weeks prior to putting her down we noticed she had a large backend and her comb was pale. I thought her large backend was due to the fact she was naturally big, at the time she was eating and drinking normal. Then suddenly we noticed the other hens started the peck at her relentlessly and in groups. A day or two after the pecking started we had to put her down.
My concern comes because I now have a Welsummer showing similar symptoms. She is waddling and her backend appears to bigger than normal. Her comb is pale as well. She is eating and drinking and walking as normal as she can given her size. The other hens are not pecking at her. She is 3 years old.
The hens eat Nuterena Country Feeds Egg Producer Pellet feed, which they have been eating for more than a year. They also get Country Companion Scratch feed as a treat in the outdoor run.
If anyone has ideas as to what may be causing this, please help. Thank you.

Can you tell if the hen is laying eggs? Does her lower belly feel enlarged, spongy, hard, or fluid filled? Tumors, internal laying /salpingitis, or egg yolk peritonitis are common in hens over 2. Ascites or water belly could be possible. Fatty liver disease is another thing that can cause enlarged lower bellies. I would cut back some on the scratch grains treats, and make the balanced layer feed 90% of their intake. Some hens are just big eaters.

The waddling can be a sign of internal laying, so I would just observe to see if she is eating too many treats, or if she is acting sluggish. Watch her droppings and how much she is eating.
