Surely he's joking.

He may not be joking about his bird being an Australorp, though. I've never seen an Australorp like that.

I thought the same thing, and I would say it may be a Black Sex Link, although I have never seen one with a silver neck but I suppose its possible

If i remember it is possible for the Birchen pattern to come out in Australorps, it is just not very common. And i wouldn't put anything past hatchery birds (if that is what it is) anyway.
