My 11 month old male Frizzle Rooster has never fully grown in his plumage like our other Frizzle Rooster, who was acquired on the same day. This poor little guy has been lovingly nicknamed "Pigpen" because he always looks disheveled and scruffy. His 'brother' Frizzle has beautiful, white plumage and is gorgeous(and he knows it too!!) But this little guy looks pitiful. He has always been low man in the pecking order. We have a total of 4 roosters, and he's on the bottom. At first, it seemed like maybe the other chickens(total of 25) were pecking at him. But after spending long periods of time watching all of them, I've seen none of that behavior. He acts perfectly normal. Eats and drinks, walks, and crows just fine. He is housed is a very large coop with an enormous run. They have been given free range in the evening hours since they were old enough to roost. He is fed a very nutritious high-quality feed, with lots of extra goodies. Can anyone tell me what this looks like?
