Can anyone shed any light on this please??

Thanks so much for writing however a question please?? How do you handle the poop situation in your home?? Does she have access to the entire house or is she confined to a tiled area or something?? Also how does she go in and out?? Do you have like a doggy door for her or do you just put her in and out when you think she may want to go out and play?? I'm just sooooooo confused as to how to do all this because I just don't get HOW you are able to have a chicken inside your home all the time with the way they poop so much?? At least mine does!!?? Trust me, I'd love nothing more than to have her in here with me all the time but I just can't seem to figure out anyway to do that other than what I'm doing now which is just letting her into the kitchen when I'm down there and let her walk about in there??

Any light you can shed on this would be sooooooo greatly appreciated!!

Two words....Chicken Diapers! Yes, there IS such a thing! It can take the bird a bit of time to get used to wearing them, as it does with crop bra's and even hen saddles. But over time they don't even know they are there!

Hi There!
We have wood floors in our house so clean up for poop isn't very difficult. Some throw rugs that I shampoo regularly. She will actually pace at the door when she wants outside...LOL! She tugs on my pant leg when she wants to snuggle on my lap and will scratch on the kitchen floor when she wants a treat , so we just follow her cues. When we leave the house, we have a converted dog kennel(largest you can get) that she stays in so we know she is safe. Has a nesting box and all

So funny thing about my girl...she is SUPER prissy, doesn't like to be messy since she hatched. She doesn't like to poop in her house, so when I would get home we developed a habit of going straight outside so she could poop, dust, forage ect. Well, now that's what she tends to do...gotta poop...wanders outside

Diapers are an option too if your girl will tolerate them! I had a silkie house chicken and she wore a diaper because she pooped all the time and didn't have the same tendency to go outside that my Bantam Cochin now does.

So really each chicken is different and you just have to get to know them and what works best for you all!

LOL...not sure if she thinks about it or it is just routine for her now

LOL! Yes we do have a great set up for a house chicken and she absolutely loves it, as do we. She has access to outside, but she prefers to spend the majority of the day inside. We have a deck and she loves sunbathing out there a=on a fluffy little rug we have. YES she is spoiled!!! How is your girl doing?
