Can anyone shed any light on this please??

The paste will be fine to use. You can either put a pea sized dolup on a piece of bread or squeeze a pea sized dolup into her mouth. If you had chosen the liquid goat wormer, a 1/2ml is really only a few of drops and isn't enough to aspirate them on if you get it under the tongue or in front of it. It would then dribble down to the back of the throat and go down the proper hole. The paste can go pretty much in the front on the tip of the tongue or in front somewhere. As thick as it is, it won't cause trouble.

Wow...I LOVE your walls!!!! Will you come over and decorate mine like that??

I love everything "bird". I have been a nut over all birds since I was 2 years old. My mom said I had a shoebox full of feathers I had collected by the time I was 4 years old. Ha! I STILL pick up pretty feathers and I am no spring chicken anymore!

Tee-hee!

I too have troubles with my spine, neck and shoulders. I know your pain. I use a chiropractor to keep me upright and walking. LOL But still I walk like Frankenstein some days. LOL "Early on-set Rigor Mortis" as my hubby calls it.

Thank you thank you thank you!! I'm glad you both like it. So far everyone has. I know WE love it and are so proud of our huge accomplishment considering that tree you have to put up ONE BY ONE... on the hanging limbs I mean. PLUS they come in sheets by the colors and you have to sit there and cut them out one by one AND they are sooooooo close to one another that you're half cross eyed by the time you finish the cutting!! Hubby did most of that while I designed the tree as you have to give it the shape you want, you know?? You can go to Etsy, the site where I bought it and you will see a million different looking trees!! It's really cool though and I've always loved doing arts and crafts!!

Anyways, my husband went to Walmart for the worming paste and couldn't find it?? So YUCK... that means I'm going to have to drive to the next little town where the tractor supply is I guess??!!! What a pain, but I really wanna give it a try cause you just never know!!

Ooooooh and my scale came today!! OK so it was NOT as big as I thought it was!! I went by the outer square size instead of the inside circle size I have to stand her on!! Soooooo although it's big enough for her to stand on, it's awkward cause chickens don't normally stand with their feet right next to each other side by side!! Lmao Boy I just do these things over and over lately?? UGH!! So anyways I did manage to stand her on it, yet she got so mad!! Hahaha she was making all her loud clucking noises and trying to jump off... needless to say no weight was recorded!! Then I brought her in the kitchen and stood the scale on the island, I picked her up and put her on the scale and had to keep feeding her pieces of lettuce so she wouldn't move!! Heeeeheeeeee Can you just picture how hilarious that was?? Good Lord!! OK so this is what I got... 5.45lbs is her weight and it IS approximate, which is not what I need I know, but it's the best I could do because although she WAS all on the scale, and she was still other than her beak and mouth chomping down on lettuce, yet the scale kept running numbers back and forth but it did keep stopping on this 5.45 and it was the middle of all the numbers it went back and forth to?? It's a digital scale.. So I'm going to try again tomorrow to see if I have better luck. If not I'm going to have to get something big yet light and get the tare weight on it then go from there. Maybe that way it'll be easier to remain steady?? Good Lord why must everything be sooooooo difficult??!!! Lol I'll keep you posted!!

Yeah it takes them a while to get used to scales!

The Safeguard paste is in the horse section, in the pet section. :)

This just tickles me, I can just picture it.

Update.... Took my dog for his yearly checkup and turns out our vet had the Safeguard there!! I remembered he does farm calls AND has the largest horse surgical facility in South Florida!! So he just gave it to me no charge or anything!! So I've given her 2 doses, the 3rd tomorrow. Then I'll stop for 10 days and do it again. Something really weird though. This morning there was not even a drop of poop anywhere inside the roost?? I mean none?? And she ate because I gave her lettuce and carrots in a nice salad and watched her eat it just before she went up to roost. But then, in the morning, once she comes down when my husband opens the door to the run and coup before leaving for work, another crazy thing with this chicken.. he leaves at approximately 6:15 AM and it's still dark and yet the minute she hears him out there, she comes down the stairs from the roost??!! In the dark still!!?? I thought they couldn't see much in the dark?? Crazy chicken!! Lol lol
Anyways I was going to say that every morning when she comes down, she does a ginormous poop.. It's sooooooo formed and round and with a small white cap on it. A very normal poop for a chicken!! So I don't know what's up with the not pooping at night??
Oh well I'll keep you posted!!

Glad you have such a wonderful vet that can help you with the Safeguard.

LOL, the giant poop, sometimes mine do that too. They come out in the morning, I give them just a smidge of sunflower seeds (their version of morning coffee

) and some let go with a big one.
I don't know why, but they do. My rooster does it quite often and I say "Charlie!!!! I can't believe that came from you!!"...he ignores me

Please do keep us posted on her progress.

Charlie!! What A COOL name for a rooster!! I'd love to see pics of your flock if you have any??

BTW... do either of you ever give yours any shrimp?? Boy oh boy, my Daisy goes CRAZY over shrimp!! I would say by her reactions that this is her favorite thing ever!!!! I felt sooooo bad and sorry a couple days ago when I gave her 3 or 4 shrimp all chopped up for her though!! The poor angel got just SO excited when she saw what I'd put in her plate that she started making her clucking noises she makes when she's happy with what I've given her... it's the cutest thing and she's always done that when she gets really happy over her treats!! Well on THIS DAY she not only started clucking louder and faster than I think I've EVER heard her do that and she immediately grabbed a piece of the shrimp up and she was like all confused for a moment as to where to run to eat it before it could be taken from her and so she started to run off with it a little ways, then she just STOPPED FROZEN IN HER TRACKS,and she just got this look or demeanor I guess you could call it, as if she'd forgotten she no longer had her sweet Livie to compete with and that NOONE was going to take it from her??!!! Oh I just wanted to bust out crying... I guess you'd have to have seen it to really appreciate what I'm saying. But it really, really WAS very sad. She turned back around then and came back to her plate and just inhaled them all!!!
Oh and also, I left the tails for her also but I chopped them up in teeny teeny pieces though. Didn't know what I should do and hubby starts saying what if she chokes on them etc etc Lol probably crazy though I think?? Right?? I've heard they do eat stuff like that??
OK I'll keep you posted. Gonna attempt another weigh day this afternoon when I bring her in from the outside pen or run.. whatever you wanna call it!! Lol My sweet husband made it for then since they were babies right after he built their coup. It's completely covered, top and all to protect from any aerial predators as well. It's not pretty.... that it's not. But it serves my purpose and that's all I care about.

Oh and just one more question. Do your chickens free range as they wish all day or do they go in and out somewhere or what?? I have to hand carry her out to her play area then carry her in again. Though she'll walk pretty well as long as I'm behind her to coax her and not let her get distracted and go "off course"!! Hahaha
I don't usually let her do that however because we have to cross over the pool deck, around one side of the pool and at the time I usually bring her in, that deck has to be hot on her little feet!! So I just carry her. Also I don't normally keep her out there too long now cause it's just too hot??!!! I take her about 8 or 9 and bring her in between 1 and 2 usually. I think that's enough time to play out there??
K..... Later
