He is missing his tail feathers... Quick back story: I had a really good rooster (Jersey Giant/Araucana) named Foghorn and he went to the big coup in the sky. I got this rooster and the first time he saw my Standard Poodle he attacked him. Not to be owned by a rooster Milo (the poodle) held him down and pulled his tail feathers. Terrible I know. This guy is very aggressive and has a pretty bad attitude. I just want to know what he is... If you can't tell from the picture I can get another tonight and re post... Thanks... This is my first post on BYC so if I am doing something wrong please let me know and I will change it. Thanks again!

Took my first post back. Its more than likely a German Spitzhauben . If not that a Brabanter. I lean towards the first due to the coloring. Def not polish.

I will take a better picture of him tonight... Thanks for your help. I will also check his toe count and let you know. Thanks again.

Here is a little better picture... I checked his toes and he only has 4. Also he has blue legs but he has pink skin under the feathers. Originally my brother thought it was some sort of Silkie mix... Thanks again!

Looks like a polish just without too much crest! Though another roo or chicken could have pecked that out and it may grow back

Honestly? I'd advise to get rid of him. He does not carry good feathering genes for a Polish, and his aggression has a high chance of being passed on to chicks he produces. A bad deal all around.

Looks polish to me to.I think they're just an aggressive breed I've had to many run'ins with my polish roos!but I'm sure he will be nice with tender love and care

Roosters don't become nice with tender love and care. Roosters are either your boss, or you're the boss of them. They're not your friends, and thinking they are is a great way to get hurt at some point.

I'd also cull the rooster. Why on earth keep a mean bird, and absolutely don't risk passing the mean gene on!
