This showed up on my red rooster at the beginning of the summer. He's a really big sissy and I just thought the other rooster was picking on him and it was scabs...but now it has spread to the other chickens.

The chickens are all in good health, full of life and laying very well...I just wish I knew what this was.

I'm not an expert and have not yet faced this particular problem, but I think Ivan is correct in thinking it's fowl pox. I have read posts that said it's like chicken pox in people and if left alone will go away on it's own, eventually. But, like I said, I don't really know, I'm just repeating what I have read.

I want to add some Production Reds to my flock in the Spring...does anyone know if any of the hatcheries will vaccinate for the pox?
