me and my mom were wondering since our hen is in the house in the cage,we put paper towels down and she pecks them so we give here bread. when we give here bread she calls her 3 day old chicks to eat the bread. can that hurt them?

Can't hurt - but I don't think its a great idea VERY limited in nutrients they need - rather fill their little tummies with good food.

As you start giving babies treats, give them some parakeet grit, too. They'll go crazy for the sand (it's weird!) but it'll help develop their gizzards for the treats.

I recall reading on here that the bread should be kind of dry, not the soft good stuff we love to eat. Maybe a big hunk of soft bread could get stuck in their throats.
