Can birds become carriers...

Can birds become "carriers" (of whatever) without ever becoming sick? How would a person find out if their flock was sick if they had no symptoms? Who does NPIP testing and how much does it cost?

Just do a search at your state's Agriculture web site to find the answers to most of your questions, and yes a bird can become a carrier with either mild or no symptoms of disease.

From what I understand, it is very difficult for small farms to get NPIP certified in CA.
