Can chicken eggs hatch in a turner like quail can?

Humidity is holding good and we have one pip and one almost unzipped and its a day EARLY! Didnt expect any activity until tomorrow!

I've been scratching my head over this too. I have a home-made bator with a turning rack. I am planning on taking the eggs out of the cartons before lock down, stopping the turner but leaving them in the turning rack lined with drawer mat. The rack is made entirely out of hardware cloth and has walls about 3 inches high. I'm a little worried that they will find a way to fall out.

Anyone know if they will be cheeky enough to jump overboard?

hope that made sense

Have had two hatch, well, one has adn the other one got half way open and then got stuck and died

I took it out but it looked just fine! And humidity is holding at 65%.

Anyone know why it would dry and stick?

Added a bit more water to the tray to up the humidity a bit more but dont want to drown the things either
