Can chicken mites get on cat/dog house pets???

Permethrian doesn't seem easy to find.

In addition, our coop is 4 ft off the ground so when I spray the coop with PYRETHRIN and it drips down below the coop on the ground where the chickens lay and walk, it won't hurt them correct? (before I spray the coop, I'll make sure the chickens are not around of course).

Thanks

Quote: Here is a link. I think I bought the Permectrin brand from my local feed store. The label folds out and it describes the proper dilution for spraying birds, premise spray, etc.

It is an insecticide that is approved for poultry premises and for spraying poultry. That is all I can say. Everything is a judgement call with insecticides unless they tell you specifically.

But do keep in mind that mites/lice kill chickens so weigh that in your mind for sure! :)

I did read the fold out paperwork that was attached. That's where it noted "1 PART concentrate and 4 PARTS water..... my question was what is the measurement for a PART??? Very confusing. It doesn't go into detail.

I feel ok using this product. Just not the exact one mentioned in this post which is what I really wanted.

Thanks for your help!!

Oh, I see!

OK a part can be anything. Like a cup, or 1/2 cup, or an ounce. You decide. Then keep the units the same for the rest of it.

So if it is one part conc. and four parts water, you can use one cup conc. and four cups water. That is my understanding anyway.
