Pigs can and will eat chickens. That's not to say that every pig will eat every chicken, but I sure wouldn't design things so they'd be in the same pen. My cousin had free ranging chickens and penned up pigs--he figured the chickens he lost to the pigs was a form of genetic selection since they had to fly into the pig pens before the pigs could eat them....
