Can chickens be an obsession?

My husband and I have been raising a small backyard flock ( 6 gals) for just over a year now....and I'm beginning to wonder if things aren't taking a turn. We designed our own modest coop, which was too small. So we jury-rigged an old rabbit hutch to be a coop. These two coops work well enough, but now I've decided that what we need is something larger...to consolidate as it were. We've spent $$$ ordering a lovely Amish coop (to arrive soon); spent more $$ to create a special paddock on the side of the house (with a lovely wooden fence...more $$). But....the cost now means that we REALLY should have more chickens... Lord, where will it end?
Is this an idiosyncracy, like collecting coffee cups.....or does it portend something more ominous? Do you suppose chickens will be featured on QVC?

Yes they ARE AN ADDICTION.. NOw the first step is admiting you have a problem, second is to feed your instiable appetite for LIL Fuzzy Butts...

I used to save up for new coach purses, now I am saving for 3 more 10ft dog kennel panels to add to my run
