Can chickens be trained ?

Have three Buff Orpington hens free roaming in our backyard.
Within our backyards we have a white pool deck approximately 80x40 and a covered brown tile deck area 80x25.
The hens are constantly crossing the pool deck from one grassy area to another grassy area. They never poop on the pool deck but constantly poop when they go into the brown tile area. I am having to power wash the patio every third day.

Any idea how I can stop them from pooping in the cover patio ?

Install a fence. Or try a sprinkler with motion detector.

I did considered a motion detector.
Was trying to figure out why they do not poop on the white pool deck.

Not sure. Maybe they don't like the pool deck surface so don't spend as much time on it? Mine don't seem to discriminate what they poop on...

I am thinking that they like the tile due to its heat conductivity.

We have over twenty fruit trees on our backyard which offer shade but they go to the tiled porch when the sun is at its peak.

I'd be happy they aren't bombing the white.
Given the choice between brown and white, unless the issue is hidden landmines.
