Can chickens eat almonds?

I looked but nuts weren't on the treat chart.

some eat peanuts but i don't know about almonds.. my parrot does.. but dogs can't.i would look for more info

I gave mine some crushed up almonds when they were only 4 weeks old. They loved them. Still alive today 14 weeks later.

I think they can have almonds but not a whole lot. Almonds have a lot of salicylic(sp?) acid in them which can be toxic in really large amount. So I don't think I would feed them a pound at one time, but in small amounts I'm sure they are fine.
