This was the cutest, funniest thread yet. From a rooster sneaking up and stealing bbq chicken and grandma chasing after to roosters liking hot wing sauce and being "spicy". I just lol'd the entire way through the thread! Very cute. I actually was wondering if chickens could eat chicken, I feel a little guilty slipping them any of my chicken leftovers. I now know and have verified that "chickens eat everything". Sort of like a goat I suppose.

why does my chickens hurt other chickens when they get hurt, I had to separate my rooster from my other chickens, because his back side by his tail was sore and the other chickens kept picking at it until his meat was coming off. The same with my one yellow chicken she haves a sore leg and they kept picking at her top back neck until it was bleeding. I had to remove her to.

It is a chicken's nature to weed out sick or injured birds from the flock. A bird with an open wound usually needs to be seperated from the flock until the wound is healed. You can try using something like Blue-Kote, to mask the red color of the open wound.

Sounds like you're having a lot of behavior issues! My first thought is always overcrowding, that causes pecking and can lead to cannibalism

. How many birds do you have and how much space?

The short answer is YES they can eat any kind of meat. I would not give it to them raw but cooked is not a problem.
Question...... It seems that the general oipnion is that allowing chickens to free range is the best way - and the purpose of that is so that they can eat anything they can catch. And every bit of that is not only raw but alive. So why is raw not a good idea?
