Can chickens eat cockroaches

Some cockroaches live in whole colonies under hay where my neighbor used to own cows. He says I am welcome to catch some insects for my chickens at any times. I own just silkies.

Can silkies eat cockroaches? LIVE roaches, not freeze dried

Why not? The only thing is that they could have been exposed to roach poison, but if you know they haven't, how ahead.

Mine eat them all the time. Yes! They are probably so good to them!

YES. Excellent protein source. Surprisingly clean. Not a significant disease vector for your birds.

My sister breeds Dubia roaches and gives me containers of chicken treats.

They're a different species, but bugs are bugs.

I'm not giving my birds shrimp. or lobster. Those are MY bugs.

They can have all the roaches and beetles they can eat. In fact, they can have my share, too!

As long as the roaches aren't poisoned. They're good. Might be hard firnthe birds to catch though, they're pretty sneaky critters according to my dragon who has yet to catch hers

I don't throw in the lizards because I want them to hang out and eat pests, but one that wanders into the chicken run is quickly doomed.

Sometimes I find my chickens fighting over a mice they killed.It is soo funny to watch!
