Some cockroaches live in whole colonies under hay where my neighbor used to own cows. He says I am welcome to catch some insects for my chickens at any times. I own just silkies.

Can silkies eat cockroaches? LIVE roaches, not freeze dried

Mine eat them all the time. Yes! They are probably so good to them!

My sister breeds Dubia roaches and gives me containers of chicken treats.

They're a different species, but bugs are bugs. :D
I'm not giving my birds shrimp. or lobster. Those are MY bugs.

They can have all the roaches and beetles they can eat. In fact, they can have my share, too! ;)

I love throwing in live roaches, worms, and lizards I found around the house/yard and watching them fight over it.

I don't throw in the lizards because I want them to hang out and eat pests, but one that wanders into the chicken run is quickly doomed.
