Hi!

In my backyard we have a fig tree and a persimmon tree. I was wondering are those safe chicken treats?

We don't eat either of them so they just fall on the ground. We do pick them up, but if they are ok for chickens then they can just eat them off the ground.
Thanks so much!!

I feed persimmons to my flock and they love them! Figs, they also love, apples, plums, pears, and Asian pears. All from our orchard, all organic, no spray, worms included :)

Oh yes. Both figs and persimmons. Persimmons make a great winter source of energy and vitamin C for chickens. I found that while chickens happily ate figs they tended to eat a limited quantity and move on to other foodstuffs. Perhaps they know to limit their fructose intake.
