Can chickens eat tomatoes?

I love to hand feed the chickens my tomatoes. They go crazy trying to get to the seeds.

** Word of warning - if you do this, watch you fingers.

I have noticed that they love anything with seeds though. Cukes, cantelope (especially the guts) etc etc.

my neighbors and i have buckets that we through the icky veggies in. when bucket is full it goes to my chickens. we haven't figured out if its the tomatoes they love or the little black picnic bugs, maybe the tomatoe flavored bugs.

my goats won't eat half the stuff the chickens do. only thing in my yard that is chicken proof is mint.

My chickens LOVE tomatoes. In the past 3 days I have canned 75 lbs of tomatoes- you got it the chickens get all the cores and skins--and the rotten tomatoes. They LOVE them. Last night they tried to follow me into the house!

Mine go crazy, they play a game i call grab and run , lol, love sitting out there and watching mine with the tomatoes, its their favorite then corn on the cob heheh

I put whole ones in the freezer and they love to peck on them on these hot hot hot days we are having.
A tomatoe popsicle!! LOL!!

My chickens LOVEE tomatos.

just researching the tomato myth because I was planning on letting the chickens roam free in the garden once the season is over and I'm ready to plant different plants....thinking they could clear it out quickly and more enjoyably (is that a word?) then myself. (because I dislike ripping out pumpkin, watermelon & tomato plants that have also become home to many spiders along the way....

If anyone thinks this is a bad plan please speak up soon.
