Can chickens get by on one leg?

My little guy (rooster, banty) just lost his foot today. A Bumblefoot issue so the vet told me. Are there any suggestions as to helping him get by and living with just one foot? It has to heal first, I know, but I'm wondering if he'll make it up to the roost or even out of the coop with one foot.

I know there have been some threads on here before about 1 legged chickens. I think most of them did well. If I remember correctly there was a pretty recent one about a roo that only had one leg. He would lay down while standing still, to get around he would hop and use his wings for balance. I'm sorry I do not have any personal experience about this. Good luck!

I think you could wrap his stump with vet wrap when it heals to cushion the skin. How far up was it amputated?
