I went out to my coop this morning, and I said hello to everyone, fed and watered them. I picked up my Buff Orp, said hello, then put her down. When I put her down, my EE came over and started pecking my Orp, and was throwing her feet in the air at her. They are both females. So I went and separated them briefly, and the EE went back for more. So I picked the EE up and held her for a second, put her down, and she puffed herself out. The Orp obviously didn't want to fight.
This has happened a few times, but its not a serious fight. I added the Orp, and three pullets to my flock in late September.
So why is my EE showing aggression towards her, directly after I put the Orp down? Is she jealous? I didn't think it was the pecking order, since the Orp has been with us for awhile. I thought they already got this down!
Thanks!
