To answer your question, chickens are very resistant to tetanus. In addition, it causes muscles to contract, leading to a closed mouth that can not be opened.

Good luck finding out what is causing her problem - I would shine a flashlight into her mouth and make sure there is no mechanical obstruction.

I still don't know what happened. She never did look sick. I think it was mechanical. I'm just really happy she's ok.
