Can chickens go grey!

Now I know a thing or two about grey roots and I'm sure my red/ chestnutty. Coloured pekin roo is going grey, but my farmers friends think I'm nuts
Anyone else got chickens with grey roots?

Looks just like the downy feathers that are close to their skin. Chickens really don't go grey, I think.....

Hmmmmm I'm not sure I think he's old and grey matey be I'm doing him a disservice
He's certainly very sexually active!

My young pullets have lighter colored fuzz close to their skin.

He's quite a dark red and the feathers near his skin are grey , not really a lighter shade of his colour BUT its ok I have hair dye

I see that. I have red chickens grey chickens and black chickens. All have white fluff near their skin.
