I am having a problem with runny, light colored egg yolks from my barred rocks. I switched their feed to a laying pellet called "egg maker" but I really don't believe that's the problem; I also have slowed down on feeing them corn every day. They love it an attack it when i toss it out to them, but I'd read that they don't really need corn in their diet so I've just been giving it to them every few days. Can that affect the egg quality? I just don't see how, but I also don't see how the egg maker could either. They also get black sunflower seeds, and they free range every day. They don't eat much of the food I feed them, and most mornings there's still quite a bit left in the bowl from yesterday, so I'm assuming that their diet is mostly probably grass and bugs, and whatever leftovers I feed them. They love leftovers!
