No your duckling did not commit suicide, it simply frowned. Just like a toddler can drown in 2 inches of water - you should get a different waterer; one of the gravity waterers where they only have a tiny opening to get to the water.
Don’t beat yourself up - it happens. Sorry for your losses.

Random... just laying in the far side lifeless & stiff.... Also no bloody poop around and they were very active and eating/drinking

It could save his life cause he’ll see another and not die of loneliness trust me but not a thin one so it won’t shatter in the duckling

No, since the female didn't hatch it, there will be no bond and they'll likely go after it

I can't get her broody... But now I am confused. When they met, she started cuddling them close, would not let me touch them, and got mad when I put her back outside(away from them)
