Can ducklings commit suicide? Cuz' I think mine just did...

I had 3 ducklings from the store, had them for about 2 weeks, and overnight two of them dyed. Looks like one dyed naturally(even tho they have food, water, heat, shade, and attention), but one drowned. This would make sense, except their water dish is very shallow... and it was not cornered or anything like that. I am very confused and this has left my only duckling(until they restock and I get more ducklings) alone. If they commit suicide, then I am scared for my last duckling, Merlin.

No your duckling did not commit suicide, it simply frowned. Just like a toddler can drown in 2 inches of water - you should get a different waterer; one of the gravity waterers where they only have a tiny opening to get to the water.
Don’t beat yourself up - it happens. Sorry for your losses.

Get a small mirror and or plushy. The duckling didn't purposefully drown, it likely fell asleep resting on the rim. I've lost many chicks that way when they're first arrived.
