Can Ducks and Chicks Hatch Together?

I have chicken eggs and duck eggs in separate incubators. I have one chicken egg in the duck incubator though because at first the chicken incubator was full and then a lot of the chicken eggs didn't make it so there is room now, but can I just leave the chicken egg in with the ducks? Can they hatch in the same incubator? Afterward, can I put the babies altogether?

I`m sure you are aware that ducks take 28 days to hatch. Other than that, there doesn`t seem to be any reason why you can`t hatch them together. After the hatch, though, duckilings are extremely messy and the chick should be moved. No other reasons that I`m aware of.......Pop

Yes, the ducks were set a week before the chicks. So they shouldn't be brooded together?

the ducks are going to be very messy with their water and they will also out grow the chicks in a weeks time. You would be better off with 2 brooders.

I might put them together for about 1 week but after that, I would separate them because the ducks will become VERY messy.
