Can ducks carry fleas in to the house?

Let me say this... I have a dog, she gets her monthly flea treatment, and I have ducks, but only rarely do I find fleas on them (the ducks), and the duck fleas are sticktight fleas, so, IMO, I don't think it's a problem unless your yard is infested with fleas.

How can you tell if your yard is infested? Everybody scratching? Can you see them on humans? Never had trouble with fleas but Shorty came from the college pond and the babies were born here in the house and lately been taking them out more, do fleas live in water?

My dogs don’t have fleas so probably that does make a difference .
Both my cat and dog get monthly flea and tick medications so I am shocked to see one on him? He is white and was easy to find but the ducklings are still mostly black and it would be hard to find them so I thought scratching went with the grooming,..crap!

Mine get the monthly too, but sometimes it doesn't seem to last a month. What medications are you using?
