Hello All,
New here to the forum, always reading all the posts but never posting.
I have an Indian Runner mixed with Swedish Blue duck that all of a sudden just started acting very strange. She was fine for the most part until about two days ago.
Currently she is confined to her own caged area and she is not eating or drinking as far as I can tell. She stands and walks in circles and then sits. When she sits her head moves in almost a circular motion from left to right. Almost bobbing side to side.
I have been searching for anything like this and have come up empty. The closest thing I find is a vitamin deficiency so I have been giving her a liquid solution daily of Niacin and Thiamine and added some apple cider vinegar today. She does drink it from the syringe, but I don't believe she is drinking on her own.
This is why I asked about a stroke, is it possible she had a stroke and that is what this whole thing is? It does seem very neurological in nature.
She doesn't seem to be getting better, but she also doesn't seem to be getting worse. However I am worried if she is not eating that she will die. I am going to feed her some liquid food tomorrow along with the vitamins.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thoughts on what this is, what type of food should I give her, etc.
Thank you all,
Phil
