Can ducks or chickens have the herb “Chaparral” ? Thanks

I have read that the herb and flowers are toxic. I've also read a DVM study that lightly advises against it, but clearly states not to give it to laying hens, hand fed babies, or liver-diseased birds.

When in doubt - don't. I wouldn't.

Ok, thank you. I was just wondering because my mom made a skin healing oil which has the chaparral in it and it has really helped us, so wanted to know if I could use it on my birds bumblefoot. I did use a little on my drake’s foot and 1 duck hen

I would stick to things made for animals/proven to be safe from now on.
