Hi! I have 2 muscovy ducks with have layed fertile eggs. I was just wondering if you need a incubator. Their really expensive! Can they raise the eggs by themselves? Many thanks:D

I have had ducks hatch their own eggs, seemed to be ok.
Incubators are not expensive, you can make one for around £18-22.
I use the polystyrene type, actually just bought a new larger one yesterday, holds 30 eggs and cost £38. It is also very stable.

Here is the same as I have: HERE

Hope that helps..

Muscovies are some of the BEST broodies. I see no reason why you would need a incubator with them around.

Kevin' right, they'll rear their own and you can save on the incubator. The rearing environment should be secure and feed and water properly provided to meet the needs of the young.
