Can ducks stay in a duck yard? If so, how much space per bird?

I'm thinking about getting some Muscovy ducks, but need to know if they can stay in a fenced off duck yard. I don't want them destroying my whole yard. If so, how much space do they need per duck in the duck yard? Do they need to move around in a duck tractor like chickens? I have chickens, but am new to ducks...

I have Muscovy's as well and move them around so my yard doesn't get to damaged from drilling and over fertilized from their poo. I have an old welded steel grated box I move around about every three to four days and they are fine with it, at night they go into a coop to sleep. I am in the process of building them a run of their own that is covered so the females wont fly away, which is a high possibility with Muscovy's I have read. So I clip wings on top of keeping them covered in their box. The grated box is 5ft x 6ft and it fits four juvenile ducks comfortably.
