After looking through all the different breeds, I like EEs the best! Could I use them in a 4-h project/show, even though they're "mongrels"? (I don't need to win, I just want to not be disqualified!). If they aren't allowed, are there any breeds, other than Amauracanas, you'd recommend that are like them? (sweet, good layers, and non-broody?)

At are Fair they may be shown but only in 4-H/FFA and in the production class...
They cant be shown in the Open Class...
Now this is at our Fair and you Fair may be different..

Find out if the show is APA or ABA sanctioned. If it is, EEs would be DQed. If it is not, ask how strict they are on judging according to the standards--even some non-sanctioned shows judge to the standards.

They certainly can be shown in 4-H. Unless yours is more strict than mine. I took my young pair last week, and won the entire show with me 'mutts'.

Although. The judge thought they were poor colored Ameraucanas, and i had to give him a lesson about the Easter Egger/Ameraucana confusion. lol
