It’s unnatural to wash chickens with water. Best way to get clean a chicken is to provide a tub with dry and clean sand. That way they can take a bath whenever they feel the need for clean feathers.

Dust bathing doesn't help with staining on their feathers though for showing, or with poop sometimes.

Taking chickens to a show is unnatural too. I don’t think you do the beauties a favour washing them, putting them in cages for a few days , riding them to a hall with so many other birds and exposing them to criticasters and lots of nosy visitors.
