So i’ve been wondering something today: I know that rotten eggs can kill others in the same incubator but can fumes on the outside of the incubator kill the unborn chicks?

As @sourland , said, some fumes can kill developing embryos. Benzene, toluene, turpenes, high concentrations of CO2, etc.
It's not the fumes from a rotting egg that kills the embryos, it's the bacteria that can enter a viable egg that kills the embryos.
