I have a 15 week old silver laced Wyandotte hen, and I think she may have laid her first egg a couple days ago.

It was at night time, and the shell was extremely soft. I already collected eggs from other hens so is it possible that my 15 week old hen laid this? I have a lot of hens, but none started laying at 15 weeks. Just wondering if it's normal or not.

Hi! It's slightly early, but nothing to be concerned about. I would just put out some oyster shell. Good luck!

It's not common but it's not impossible either, although most wyandottes take their sweet time to start laying.
It could also be that one of your older hens just laid a fart egg. It has happened to mine at night too.
Has she been displaying any type of laying eggs behavior? Like singing the egg song or laying on nests?

That's really young for a Wynadotte...a sexlink or other high production birds it wouldn't be a surprise.
Are you sure she's 15 weeks?
Do you have other birds?

Just happened to me, definitely possible. At 15 weeks, I have 2 squatting, and 1 laying (I think...2 eggs so far!) Wasnt expecting eggs until September!
