When i let the ladies out for the day there were 0 eggs when i got home i had 29 eggs. I only have 23 chickens. i have RR and EEers. Or is there an an Egg Fairy.

today we SAW it happen. Our Americauna ("Roaster" is her name) laid an egg this morning, then acted all upset (either broodylike, or upset by the visiting dog-on-a-leash), went into her box and laid a second egg. Both eggs appear normal.

She is a few weeks post moult when she hadn't laid an egg for around 12 days. She is 2 years old.

We are wondering, how old will she be when she stops laying? A book reported Americaunas will lay into their old age 5-10 years!

Chickens never stop laying completely.
