I have a new baby silkie--she has most of her feathers, but her feet and legs are all icky and I want to clean her up a little---will it hurt her if I bathe her gently and blow her dry and keep her warm?

She is about 8 weeks old. and what kind of soap?

I have a white silkie just 2 months old... and she got her feet washed today. I just used some warm water, dunked her feet, a foamy soap and washed them up. She seemed to enjoy the foot massage.

Then dunked her feet again to rinse...

Gently blotted her feet and legs, let her run around a little, and then put her back in her nice clean cage. She is now happily and cleanly perched and asleep.

i wash my silkies after a rain and before i put them outside. i dont think it will matter just keep a close eye on them and make sure they dont get too cold and use the right shampoo.

Well I finally got a little time and it was warm enough to wash my little silkie. She is adorable and has the sweetest disposition. I put a bowl in the sink and plopped her in and she just loved that water! I rinsed her right under the tap and towel patted her dry. Then her most favorite part was the blow dryer! She laid right down and and spread her wings out, so I dried that side, and then my son flipped her over and she splayed out and I dried her underside. her eyes were closed and she was sooo relaxed.
Then she sat on the couch with me wrapped in a warm towel before I put her back outside. She is sooooo POOFY now!
