Can I brag about one of my chickens

I have 8 17 week old golden comets. One is mostly white. I was scared she was a he, but she is a she. She is my favorite. She sits on my knee and talks to me. Well yesterday afternoon, I had them out free ranging and she was at the edge of the woods scratching around and she got excited so I knew she had something. She takes off running with the other girls in pursuit and I look and she has a baby snake Well the chase is on and she would not let me get close to her. She finally killed it and ate it. EWWW
Now I know why she is my favorite girl. LOL

That's impressive.

I think I may have over domesticated my girls too much. I just don't see them going for things like that. They ignore quite a few bugs except spiders, and they run from slugs, however a few weeks ago they were in hot pursuit of a squirrel.

My word! How big are the spiders? I have these lil house spiders. They are kinda cute!

Your story reminds me of the day that Gimpy (BO) found a good sized Gardner snake in the yard. The whole dang flock was off to the races that day! Few things are as funny to watch as 11 chickens chasing one chicken who is trying desperately to swallow down a foot long snake on the run!!
